Kids Story Time! - Big Dog Stories

  • Gaelic Lane

Service Description

Slow down the frenzy of the summer holidays and gather at Second Home Studio + Cafe for storytime. We’re joined by local author and illustrator Colin Fraser for a reading of his first children’s picture book, Big Dog and the Home for Lost Hounds. Big Dog is a leggy rescue dog that's never far from mix-ups and mayhem. Wild rabbit chases, kennel escapes and an encounter with a mysterious monster, Big Dog has quite the string of tales to tell. But all stories need to start somewhere, and his first tale sees him in search for a new home and place to fit in. Not fitting in can be scary and this rhyming picture book is set to show children that being different is your best asset. Ready to uncover his first story? Big Dog’s first book comes with a downloadable activity pack of colouring in and drawing tasks to print at home. At this reading, children will get a colouring sheet to complete in the cafe or at home. About the story “He’s a stray with no collar, his story is unknown...” The dogs at the Home for Lost Hounds are puzzled when a peculiar dog moves into the rescue shelter. Big Dog is large, lanky and he definitely doesn't fit in. But is there a place for a dog that doesn't fit in? This event is suitable for children aged two+ with adult supervision. Entry to the reading is free. For more information, visit the Big Dog Stories website and follow on Instagram.
